About Me

Hello, I'm Chris (he/him). I'm a BACP-registered Integrative Therapist. As a BACP member, I adhere to a stringent Code of Ethics. You can read more about how I work here.
Between mid-2020 and early 2024, I worked with clients (in-person and online) at Terrence Higgins Trust (THT) in London, U.K. My clients have identified at all points along the LGBTQIA+ spectrum and otherwise and have likewise presented with rich and shifting cultural contexts. I welcome all my clients in their glorious uniqueness.
Prior to THT, I worked for a couple of years with The Islington Bereavement Service (via St. Joseph's Hospice, London, U.K.) as a Bereavement Befriender; facilitating my clients in working through and around their loss.
I have also worked for over two decades as an artist and in Digital Product and Service Innovation; as a Designer, Creative Director and Design Researcher. Ever curious about what people really need, I have been a committed advocate for Ethical, Inclusive and User-Centred Design. I have contributed to multidisciplinary projects whilst working with Nokia, Samsung and most recently, with the BBC.
I understand, intimately, the challenges of being a creative person (there are many kinds of creativity, manifest in many kinds of roles) working in a commercial environment. Please reach out if you're experiencing such challenges!
Recently, I've revived my creative/art practice - for some time dormant. This invigorates - along with a passion for philosophy, people and places - how I approach counselling.
I embrace the vibrant sense of discomfort - the potential for transformation - that arises out of curiosity and adventure in the unfamiliar.
I hold an undergraduate degree from Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design, London (BA Fine Art). I have post-graduate qualifications; from University College London (MSc Human-Computer Interaction & Ergonomics); from Goldsmiths, University of London (Postgraduate Certificate in Humanistic and Psychodynamic Counselling & Psychotherapy) and from the University of East London (Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy).
I am also consistently updating my knowledge and practice through formal training - including: Foundational studies in Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MCBT) with the Oxford Mindfulness Centre, and most more around the concept and action of: Therapy for Social Change.
I hope to get the opportunity to work with you, to understand what's getting in your way, and for us to work with your unique spark of creativity!
